It all began in the autumn of 2009 in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, when a student from Vietnam presented these intricate 3D pop-up cards in Germany for the first time.
People’s enthusiasm for this special paper art inspired her to open her own workshop in Vietnam together with her brother. To this day, all LINPopUp® cards are created there – with love, care, and artisanal skill.
What started as a small dream is now a brand that perfectly blends German design with Vietnamese craftsmanship.

From idea to finished card
What began as a small workshop in Vietnam has become a brand that touches people all over the world with its delicate 3D pop-up cards. Each card is meticulously handcrafted there by our talented artisans – with patience, precision, and passion.
Every design tells its own little story – from flowers that bloom as you open them, to animals that seem to dance out of the paper. Our motifs combine Asian craftsmanship with a European design sensibility – elegant, playful, and always with a touch of magic.
The design: Everything starts with an idea
Every card begins as a concept. We ask ourselves: What feeling should the card evoke when opened? What story does it tell? Whether it’s a romantic wedding scene, a festive birthday surprise, or a delicate floral arrangement – the draft establishes the emotional core.
The idea is first turned into a sketch, then a digital pattern. We have to calculate exactly how the individual elements unfold when the card is opened – a three-dimensional paper puzzle.
Choosing materials: Quality you can feel
We exclusively use high-quality paper and cardstock that is sturdy enough to hold its structure while remaining flexible enough to be creased cleanly. The weight, the surface, the color absorption – all of these influence the end result.
Cutting & Creasing: Where precision matters
The individual elements are cut with millimeter precision. Even the smallest deviations can result in the card not opening properly or the 3D structure failing to pop up correctly. Each crease is placed with care – as it determines how the motif unfolds when opened.
Assembly: Handcrafted with a delicate touch
The individual layers are assembled by hand. Layer by layer, the three-dimensional scene takes shape, coming to life when the card is opened. This step requires patience, experience, and a keen eye for detail.
Quality control: Every card is inspected
Before a card leaves our facility, it is opened, examined, and thoroughly checked. Is every layer in place? Does the card open evenly? Are the colors and cuts correct? Only when everything is perfect does the card make its way to you.
